Developers Announce NorthPark Project in St. Louis
The 550-acre development includes office, light industrial, retail space
ST. LOUIS (Jan 2007) – With approximately 550-acres, the NorthPark development is the largest urban land redevelopment parcel in the Midwest. Created from a noise buyout more than 20 years ago, NorthPark is the future site of a perfectly designed development for growing companies. The $400 million development is expected to have a $7 billion impact on the community, creating approximately 12,000 new jobs.
The partnership responsible for the development is as exceptional as the project. The NorthPark Partners is an unprecedented union between competing developers McEagle and Clayco. Each had competed vigorously for the development rights of the land, and after partnering in 2004, were awarded the project the next year.
“We both bring tremendous vision and extensive experience to the project,” said Chris McKee, President of McEagle. “Because of our willingness to work together we have seen remarkable results and progress made overall and in individual projects.”
Signs of NorthPark’s success are already prevalent, with the new Express Scripts headquarters. This is the first building completed in the NorthPark development. Vatterott College is also relocating its national headquarters to NorthPark this fall. The college’s presence will create approximately 150 new jobs and attract an estimated 500 students to the area.
“We are so pleased with the completion and success of the Express Scripts headquarters,” said Larry Chapman, Principal at Clayco. “The Vatterott College national headquarters and St. Louis campus is moving along quickly. We expect it to open in October.”
NorthPark is located at the northeast corner of Interstates 70 and 170, in the cities of Kinloch, Berkeley and Ferguson. When complete this development will accommodate more than five million square feet of office, retail and light industrial space.
